What the full check covers

Four blind spots almost every self-built portfolio has.

🔁

Overlaps

Down to the single-stock level, across all your ETFs — how much of your "diversification" is actually real?

🧲

Concentration risk

Single stocks, sectors, countries: where does too much hang on too little — and since when?

💸

Fee drains

TER, savings-plan and custody costs projected over 20 years. Small percentages, five-figure impact.

💱

Currency risk

Your real USD exposure — including what's hidden inside "world" ETFs.

Numbers, not platitudes

No generic "diversify more" tips. Every finding in your report names specific positions, percentages and euro amounts. Like this:

FINDING 3

Hidden overlap

Your iShares MSCI World and your Invesco Nasdaq‑100 overlap by 41 % — their top‑7 positions are identical. You effectively hold €9,240 twice; your portfolio is less diversified than it looks.

FINDING 5

Fee drain

Your active mutual fund (TER 1.84 %) costs you €214 per year more than a comparable ETF (TER 0.20 %). Projected over 20 years: ~€6,900 in lost returns at identical market performance.

FINDING 8

Currency concentration

Your USD exposure is 71 % — 12 percentage points above your own target allocation. A 10 % dollar decline would cost your portfolio ~€4,100 without a single stock moving.

Your second-opinion options

Bank advisor
"free"

Paid through commissions — the second opinion usually ends in a product sale.

Fee-only advisor
€150–250 / hour

Independent and good — but rarely proportionate for an ETF portfolio with 8 positions.

Who's behind this?

Robert Alibegovic

Hi, I'm Robert Alibegovic — an accountant, not a bank

13+ years in finance: Big 4 audit manager, risk leadership at two Australasian banks, group accounting for a Berlin scale-up, finance director roles from Doha to Berlin. Qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACCA), Chartered Banker (AU) and Financial Advisor (NZ). After a decade in New Zealand and a stint in the Gulf, I rebuilt my own portfolio the European way — and never got an honest second opinion on it, only product pitches. Depot‑Check is the tool I wished existed: independent, specific, commission-free. I answer every support email personally, within 24 hours. No ticket system that closes your request unsolved after five days.

Frequently asked questions

Is this investment advice?
No. Depot‑Check is an analysis and education tool: it shows you facts, metrics and risks in your portfolio — overlaps, costs, concentration, currencies. It does not tell you what to buy or sell, and it is not investment advice within the meaning of German securities law (WpHG). The decisions stay yours.
Which brokers and formats are supported?
At launch: CSV and PDF statements from Trade Republic, Scalable Capital, ING, comdirect and Interactive Brokers — plus manual entry for everything else. Your broker missing? Tell us; the list grows with demand. And if an import doesn't parse cleanly for you, we check it by hand before your report goes out.
What happens to my data?
Your position list is used only for your report, processed GDPR-compliantly on EU servers, and permanently deleted on request, instantly. No broker login, no bank API, no data selling — ever.
Does it cover crypto and individual stocks?
Yes. The check covers ETFs, individual stocks, funds and crypto — and the interplay between them (e.g. a Bitcoin position on top of tech-heavy ETFs) is often the most interesting part of the analysis.
What if the report tells me nothing new?
14-day money-back, no questions asked. If your report doesn't give you a single aha moment, you get the full price back — one short email is enough.
Isn't this just generic AI waffle?
That's exactly what we refuse to ship — there are enough vague "diversify more" tips out there. Every finding names specific positions, percentages and euro amounts from your portfolio (see the sample extract above), and every report is reviewed by a human before it's sent.
Important — not investment advice: Depot‑Check is an analysis and education tool. We do not give individual recommendations to buy or sell specific financial instruments, and we do not provide investment advice within the meaning of German securities law (WpHG). We show you facts, metrics and risks in your portfolio — what you do with them is entirely your decision. Investing involves risk.
