What's inside

Four sheets. No macros, no fluff — opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets.

🗺

Planner

Plan all 12 months across INCOME, NEEDS, WANTS and KEEP — with EU-ready categories like Rent & Nebenkosten, health insurance, broadcast fee and the Deutschlandticket. A "left to allocate" row shows when every euro has a job.

✍️

Tracker

One line per expense: date, type (dropdown), category, amount. That's the whole habit — everything else calculates itself.

📊

Dashboard

Plan vs. actual per month, your savings rate, your year against the 50/30/20 rule, and how many months your emergency fund covers.

Built for the EU

Euro formatting, German cost realities, and a KEEP section that treats ETF savings plans and pension contributions as bills you pay yourself first — the accountant's way.

Who's behind this?

Robert Alibegovic

Hi, I'm Robert Alibegovic — a Chartered Accountant

13+ years in finance across Germany, New Zealand and the Gulf — Big 4 audit, bank risk, finance director roles. I've budgeted my life in three currencies and three cost-of-living realities, and this NEEDS/WANTS/KEEP file is the one system that survived all of them. It's what I actually use every month, rebuilt so it works for you too. Questions? I answer every email personally.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?
Yes. You get the full planner, forever, including future versions. The "price" is your email address — that's how I let you know when I ship new tools for EU investors. One-click unsubscribe, and you keep the file.
Excel, Google Sheets or LibreOffice?
All three. The planner uses only standard formulas (SUMIFS — no macros, no array magic), so it opens cleanly everywhere. For Google Sheets: upload the file to Drive and open with Sheets.
What is NEEDS / WANTS / KEEP?
Every euro gets one of three jobs: NEEDS (must pay: rent, groceries, insurance), WANTS (choose to pay: travel, eating out) and KEEP (pay yourself: emergency fund, ETF savings plan, pension). The classic 50/30/20 rule is the compass; the dashboard shows where you actually stand.
I don't live in Germany — does it still work?
Absolutely. The German categories (Nebenkosten, broadcast fee, Deutschlandticket) are just pre-filled rows — rename any of them and the maths doesn't change. The system is universal.
What happens to my email?
It goes on my list, GDPR-compliant, and is never sold or shared. You'll get the planner and occasional mails about tools I'm building (like the Depot-Check below). Unsubscribe = one click.
